Colin Wright Photography bio picture

Welcome!

Since I started photographing professionally in 2003, I have been dedicated to producing the most beautiful creative outdoor photography I can.  Finding the hand of God in images of His astounding creations is what I strive for with every image.

My primary focus is on photography practiced in the great outdoors, with my photographic interests also including aircraft, macro photography and elements of color, contrast, symmetry and reflection.

I am represented at Framations Art Gallery in St. Charles MO, where you can always see examples of my work hung on the walls.  Framations also hosts a video tour of some of my work, which can be seen here.

Hello. I’m Colin Wright, and here’s a little bit about me.

I’ve been behind a camera for as long as I can remember.

As a child in the 1970s, I shot with both 110 and 126 film cameras. In junior high school, my father started to teach me how to shoot with his old Edixa 35mm film camera, and I used it for many years. I started shooting with Canon gear when Dad gave me a Canon T50 around 1986. I’ve been using Canon gear ever since, and currently use both a Canon 10D and 20D for my photography.

I was born in Florida, raised in southeast Tennessee, and have lived in both Omaha and St. Louis for many years each.

I’ve been happily married for many years to my wife Becky, and I have a daughter, Siobhan, who is my biggest fan.

I have a day job working in the information systems field for a major international corporation based in the St. Louis area. I have been at my current job for thirteen years, and have been in the information systems field for over twenty years.

I am a military veteran, and proudly served in the US Air Force during the last half of the 1980′s.
